In addition, Brandy Hughes received the honor of being selected as the winner for the 2022 National Headache Foundation Headache Hero as an exceptional healthcare professional. Her doctorate research concentrated on headache management, primarily using Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA) in the prevention of chronic migraines, which at the time was a new and innovative treatment option (Botox® gained FDA approval for chronic migraine prevention in 2010). On a local and national level, she provides educational lectures to healthcare providers on headache management. She has many years of inpatient and outpatient experience working in neurology and is affiliated with Emory St. Joseph’s as a community provider. Her medical model is focused on patient education. She feels education is paramount for understanding and managing neurological diseases.
